Amrut Peated Malt Whisky is a renowned product from the esteemed Amrut distillery in India. Notable whisky critic Jim Murray has rated this expression highly, awarding it a score of 94 points. This whisky boasts a rich, intense flavour and is made using peated barley malted in Scotland, but distilled in Bangalore and aged in a combination of new and old American oak barrels.
Tasting note
This whisky boasts traditional Amrut flavors, with buttery and toffeed oak scents on the nose and a subdued peat aroma. The palate reveals a prominent peaty cereal taste, accompanied by smouldering charcoal and burnt sugar undertones.
