This is Peddlers' version of of a sloe gin, inspired by traditional Peking Flavours. By taking their award-winning Shanghai Gin and infusing it with salted plums, mulberry, orange peel and osmanthus. This is all then aged in Oloroso sherry barrels for a lovely dry finish.
This is an unbelievable aromatic gin, with layers of floral notes, stone fruit sweetness, and a long dry finish. Everything about this gin feels premium, from the stunning bottle to the full bodied and masterfully balanced purple liquid inside.
Tasting notes
On the nose, aromatics of osmanthus and dates are overlaid with floral notes from Sichuan pepper.
On the palate you'll find sweetness of stone fruit, balanced with salty and slightly sour notes of salted plums. Earthy tones are brought from hawthorne, angelica, and juniper - giving a rich bodied mouthfeel which rounds into smoked cherry and oak.
The finish is long and complex, with a dryness from the sherry casks, balanced with more sweetness from stone fruit, and vanilla notes.
