Good quality, straight cabernet franc is really hard to come by as lots of winemakers will blend it away however Beach House have bucked this trend and we're loving the result. Chris Harrison only produces cabernet franc in excellent vintages and that's clearly paid off for him here.
The wine has a healthy dose of tannic grip but it's well-balanced and is a stunning example of Gimblett Gravels Cabernet Franc. Rich and robust, there's an abundance of dark sweet fruit flavours that can't be denied. The bottle itself looks the part too which never hurts.
Tasting note
Cameron Douglas MS: "Ripe, fruity, varietal and youthful bouquet of dark red berries and olives, greywacke stones and dusty road scents. There’s a layer of toasty barrel with clove spice suggestions and moments of cassis and violet, blackcurrant and plum. On the palate - youthful, textured, fruity and dry. Flavours mirror the nose with dark berries and stony minerality, toasty oak and spices."
