This elite McLaren Vale Shiraz typically sells for $80 AUD in Australia - which equates to approximately $85 NZD per bottle. (It's currently for sale at the winery cellar door for $100 AUD!) With the trade spat between Australia and China still in full effect, we were approached to sell a parcel of this wine under the radar in New Zealand as a mystery deal* to move some of the capacity that China would normally account for.

Here's what we can tell you: Vinted by the same esteemed winery that produced our previous Mystery Shiraz offer, this exciting deal is another banger, and we are 100% confident that anyone who buys this wine will immediately recognise the sheer value for money it represents. We have tasted this wine and, as the reviews below attest, it is a velvet smooth, seductive release that gives you everything that the world loves about plush, small batch McLaren Vale Shiraz. The local wine community heralded Vintage 2021 as one of the best of the 21st Century in McLaren Vale and this wine shows all the advantages of a superlative growing season and a winemaking team at the top of their game.

Please note: The brand has had very little exposure in the New Zealand market - so please don't be surprised if you don't recognise the label when you purchase it. We unequivocally guarantee the special nature of the value on offer here and are proud to bring you wine of this calibre at this exclusive price.

Clearly, with an opportunity of this magnitude, stocks are strictly limited, and we strongly suggest you secure your personal requirements before telling colleagues, family and friends.

* This wine is being sold to you as a 'Mystery deal' to protect the producer's investment in their flagship brand. When you order, the wine will be delivered to you under its normal label, and usual packaging - so all will be revealed when it lands at your door.

Tasting notes

Sam Kim: "96pts. Opulent and hugely appealing, the wine shows dark and purple fruit richness, violet, cedar and dark chocolate characters on the nose. It's bold and weighty while remaining silky and soothing with a long graceful finish. Multi-layered with sensual complexity, finishing impressively long and gratifying. At its best: now to 2040."

Ken Gargett: "94pts. The fruit for this wine comes from 80-year-old vineyards which are a combination of those owned by the family and others from respected growers in McLaren Vale. Magenta/maroon in colour, the nose is redolent of black cherries, chocolate, mulberries, plums, cloves, dry herbs and bay leaves. Richly flavoured and appealingly approachable, there is a seamless and seductive palate here, over which the intensity never waivers backed by excellent length, fine acidity and sleek tannins. This has at least a decade ahead of it, during which period it will surely improve even more. Impressive."
