The salty sea dog brother of the gold medal winning Sheep Dip premium blended malt Scotch whisky. Made from a blend of Islay whiskies aged for up to 16 years, this Scotch blend is an affordable way to enjoy the unique character of the worlds most famous whisky terroir, the Scottish island of Islay.
Curious about the origin of the name? Back in the day, resourceful Scots would stash their homemade whisky in barrels labeled with "SD" to dodge the ever present tax collector and his excise taxes, would that could be the case today!
Tasting note
The aroma is robust and smoky with a hint of coastal salt, while the palate discovers hints of dried fruits, spices, and a touch of sea salt. The finish is smooth and oily, with a lasting presence of peat.
