This famous Reserve label has always been an excellent example of fine, barrel-fermented Hawke's Bay Chardonnay and this 2022 release brings even more weight and texture to the party. A powerful nose of ripe peach, apricot and French oak promises much and the palate fulfils those flavours with buttery, creamy mouthfeel and more oak spice.
The 2022 is now entering its peak drinking window, and will continue to develop over the coming 3 years.
Tasting note
Rich aromas of ripe stone fruits and hazelnuts. The palate is textured and full with pleasing layers of complexity. Fine acidity adds length and balance. Enjoy with a creamy pasta, seafood chowder or with smoked salmon.
