Alchemy & Tonic

Alchemy & Tonic is a New Zealand mixer brand founded in 2020 by Kate Smith, part of the team behind drinks company Premium Liquor. The idea was simple: a good vodka or spirit deserves a mixer with just as much thought put into it, not something poured straight from a supermarket bottle. Since launching, the brand has built its range around distinctly New Zealand ingredients alongside more familiar tonic and soda styles, packaged in its recognisable pastel cans.

Each can starts from a proper base, tonic, soda, or a fruit forward soft drink, before a genuinely different flavour is built in rather than relying on imported citrus and quinine alone. The classic styles suit a straightforward gin and tonic, while the more inventive flavours work for a mixed drink at home or behind the bar. It is a solidly local entry in the world of tonic and mixers.
