A wonderfully rich and decadent example of modern Italian Primitivo that is packed with dark flavours of chocolate and dark savoury cherry. To the uninitiated, primitivo tastes a lot like spicy shiraz but with flavours more in the red fruit spectrum. It's the grape variety that went to California where it became known as zinfandel; the signature red wine of California.
Tasting note
Menhir Salento Quota 29 is produced from 100 per cent Primitivo and has a strong ruby-red with a touch of violet colour. It has a pleasant, fresh, clear and expressive taste along with a ripe morello cherries, mint and blackberries bouquet.
