Vinted from hand-picked fruit from the Gimblett Gravels and Ohiti Road sub-regions, this remarkable wine has developed a massive following with chardonnay buyers - and after missing the ill-fated 2023 vintage, we are thrilled to offer the 2024 for sale.
Old School by name and nature, this is classic, robustly flavoured Hawke's Bay Chardonnay from a producer synonymous with that style. Vinted by Beach House as a direct favour to us, this chardonnay takes the standard Beach House style up a notch and adds extra weight and texture. The kicker is that Old School is selling below the price of the standard Beach House label. You'll never get a better deal.
This 2024 vintage is another rock-solid proposition from this most trusted producer. Layers of creamy stonefruits are intertwined with toasty oak and lemon brulee characters - and the lasting impression here is both balanced and rewarding. Winemaker Chris Harrison was quick to pronounce "This is the best Old School we have produced to date", and accordingly we are stoked to offer you this exclusive wine for sale.
Tasting note
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: "This is immediately appealing on the nose, showing golden peach, mango, vanillin oak, and butterscotch characters. The palate is opulent and plush, filled with rich texture and succulent fruit flavours, beautifully framed by juicy acidity, finishing splendidly long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2029."
