Benromach 10YO Single Malt Whisky is a classic Speyside single malt with a wonderfully old-school feel, bringing together rich sherry cask influence, gentle smoke and plenty of character. Made by the family-owned Benromach distillery, it stands out from many modern Speyside whiskies by holding onto a subtle smoky style that feels traditional rather than flashy. This is the sort of bottle that appeals to drinkers who like their whisky balanced, flavour-packed and just a little bit different from the softer Speyside norm.
This 10 year old expression is matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, which gives it a lovely mix of orchard fruit, vanilla sweetness, warming spice and a delicate wisp of peat smoke. The palate brings stewed apple, pear, toasted malt, orange peel and milk chocolate into the mix, with cracked black pepper and a lingering smoky edge helping keep everything lively and structured. It is a seriously rewarding dram for the price, and a very smart pick for anyone wanting a Speyside malt with a bit more depth and personality.
