Black Barrel wines are the brainchild of winemaker Nicholas Crampton and grower Jim Zerella who created the brand with the plan to make traditional, full-bodied South Australian wines. Their 2024 shiraz is vinted from premium fruit and aged in high toast 'black barrels'. The result is a dense, ripe shiraz with layers of dark berry flavours and warm spicy notes. Tasting note:
A bold wine with loads of ripe dark berry flavours like blackberry and plum, backed up by warm, spicy notes of clove and black pepper. The oak aging adds a touch of smokiness and smoothes out the finish, giving it a nice balance between fruit and spice.
