Dr Beak's Haskap Gin is a limited release from Dr Beak’s Exploration Series that leans into the distillery’s love of bold local flavour and slightly off-centre ideas. Built on their New Zealand Garden Gin, this expression is naturally infused with haskap berries grown near Taihape, then rested in oak before being balanced with raw sugar. The result is a gin liqueur that feels bright, juicy and a little exotic, while still keeping the savoury, characterful edge that makes the Dr Beak range so distinctive.
This limited release bottling layers red berry fruit, fresh rose petal notes and a lingering savoury finish over the herbaceous backbone of the Garden Gin base. Some retailer notes also mention ex-pinot barrel resting, which helps add another little layer of texture and depth. It is a seriously fun bottle for serving over ice, mixing into a bramble or sour, or pouring when you want something that feels a bit special and a bit different from the usual gin lineup.
