Introducing Mullet Wines - the brand that is taking over Australia and shaking up the booze industry with their new approach to wine. Just like the name, these wines are business in the front - party in the back.
Corey and Nick - AKA the Mulletmasters - have been making wine for years - you name it they’ve done it. Small vineyards, hands-off, open top fermenting - yah de yah. Beautiful, sure - but a tiny bit boring no? The lads thought it was time to stir things up and make some wines that rocked a seriously unique style.
As they've proudly claimed: "Wine snobs will hate them, everyone else will love them." - these wines have been built with fun at the forefront - fruitier, sweeter flavour, higher alcohol, and a super-long party finish.
Mullet Hard Pinot Noir
Forget your delicate, airy-fairy Pinots - this one's all grunt and glory. Mullet Hard Pinot Noir is a full-noise red that comes in hot with fat flavours of plum, dark cherry and a dirty lick of spice. It’s loud, lush and proud - none of that watered-down red water here. This bad boy's smooth, juicy and ready to smash straight out the bottle. Chuck it in the chilly bin or rip the lid off warm - she’s good either way.
2024 was a ripper season. A chilly kick-off and a cruisy season meant the fruit ripened right on cue, loading the berries with maximum flavour. Only the ripest, chunkiest parcels made the blend. Picked early to lock in freshness, semi-destemmed and left to do their thing in open tubs, getting a good plunge here and there. Then it hit seasoned French oak for a mellow-out before bottling with bugger-all handling.
Tasting Notes
Stacks of ripe bloody plum and black cherry off the bat, with a spicy kick and a cheeky whiff of charred wood. Big mouthfeel - smooth, rich and dangerously drinkable. It’s got that full-body party vibe that’ll have you back for another swig before your first one’s done.
