Chambord
Chambord takes its name from the fairytale château in France's Loire Valley, where a raspberry liqueur was said to have been presented to King Louis XIV in the seventeenth century. The modern version was created in the early 1980s by an American drinks family who rediscovered the old recipe and repackaged it in its now-famous spherical bottle. It is still made in the Loire Valley, and today the brand belongs to Brown-Forman, the American company behind a number of well-known spirits.
Each bottle blends red and black raspberries with Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and cognac, giving it a deep, jammy sweetness alongside real fruit character. It works well drizzled over dessert, but its classic role is behind the bar, splashed into a French Martini or topped up with something sparkling. If vodka is what you need to build one, our vodka range is a good place to start.
