An excellent example of modern Hawke's Bay Chardonnay from winemaker Jason Stent and his Paritua team. This is lovely chardonnay with powerful fruit weight influenced by a mix of new and seasoned oak. It is perfectly pitched with fruit power and underlying drive but the focus is on fruit not the oak component. Malolactic fermentation adds just the right amount of creamy texture and palate weight. Recommended.
Tasting note
Ripe citrus aromas of navel orange and stonefruit, a medley of nougat, flint and vanilla notes to add to the
complexity and interest on the nose. A silky attack with sweet fruit flavours of lychee and navel orange, almond and clove in the rich textural mid palate, with hints of nougat and vanilla balanced with fine oak and a lingering citrus finish.
