Highland Park Valknut Whisky 700ml

Valknut is the second instalment in Highland Park's Viking Legend series, showcasing their rich Nordic heritage in Orkney. The name means 'knot of those who died in battle' and the symbol of interlocking triangles represents the journey from mortal life to the afterlife - a fitting concept for this exceptional release, honored with Double Gold at the 2019 San Francisco Spirits Competition. The packaging for the entire series was designed by Jim Lyngvild, a renowned Danish artist and designer whose ancestor, Ragnvald Eysteinsson, was the first Earl of the Orkney Islands 36 generations ago.

Tasting Notes

Crafted with a high proportion of local peated malt and matured in a mix of sherry seasoned European and American oak casks and ex-bourbon casks, Valknut strikes a perfect balance between the aromatic spice of cloves and cracked black pepper and the sweet notes of toasted vanilla and creme brûlée.
