Teeling introduces their latest release in the Explorers Series: the Teeling 15YO Mugi Shochu Cask. This unique expression showcases the intersection of Japanese and Irish cultures, pushing the boundaries of Irish Whiskey craftsmanship through the use of rare Mugi Shochu casks. The harmonious blending of these distinct influences results in an exceptional whiskey experience.

This 15-Year-Old Japanese Edition is made from a blend of corn and malted barley, first aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for eleven years, then matured further for four years in ex-Mugi Shochu Japanese Spirit casks. The final product is bottled at 46% strength and undergoes no chill filtration, allowing for the authentic expression of its unique character and robust taste.

Tasting Notes

This whiskey boasts aromas of candied apples, lychee, and jasmine tea, as well as a layer of sweet vanilla, fruit pastries, and spice. On the palate, flavors of lychee and passion fruit are joined by poached pears, gingerbread cookies, and golden syrup. The finish is smooth with gentle wood tannins, dried fruits, and a refreshing crisp aftertaste.
