Nikka's Coffey Gin is a beautifully distinctive Japanese gin built around the silky spirit produced in Nikka’s famous Coffey stills. Known for their whisky production, Nikka uses the same grain based distillates here, giving the gin an incredibly smooth and rounded texture that sets it apart from more traditional styles.
The recipe balances 11 botanicals with a vibrant burst of Japanese citrus. Yuzu, kabosu, amanatsu and shequasar bring bright, zesty freshness that lifts the classic gin base of juniper, coriander and citrus peel. A subtle touch of apple nods to Nikka’s historic connection with the fruit, while a hint of Japanese sansho pepper adds a delicate, tangy spice on the finish. The result is elegant, complex and refreshingly modern.
Tasting Notes
Bright aromas of Japanese citrus lead the nose with fresh yuzu and orange peel alongside classic juniper. The palate is silky and layered with citrus, soft apple sweetness and gentle spice. The finish is crisp and lively with a subtle peppery lift from sansho.
