For more than three decades, Linden Estate has been producing some of Hawke's Bay's most reliable wines. Family owned and focused on quality, they've built a reputation for fruit-driven wines that consistently overdeliver. The Estate range delivers everything you'd expect from this trusted Hawke's Bay producer - generous fruit, regional character and outstanding value for money.
Produced in Linden Estate's signature approachable style, this is a good example of medium-bodied Hawke's Bay red. Ripe plum and black cherry fruit are complemented by subtle coffee bean and cedar spice, while soft tannins and a smooth finish make this an easy wine to enjoy now.
Tasting note
The final blend is 61% merlot and 39% cabernet franc.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: "Complex and inviting, the bouquet shows dark berry, dried herb, fine leather, and toasted almond characters, leading to a beautifully weighted palate offering a supple texture and chalky tannins. It's spicy and savoury with a lingering, finely drying finish. At its best: now to 2030."
Cameron Douglas MS: "A lovely bouquet of red and dark plums, blackberry and savory spice woody layers. Rose and blackcurrant, some layers of wood spices and stony earthy highlights. Firm and dry with an abundance of fine chalky tannins and backbone of acidity. Fresh and bright, youthful and taut, medium+ length and lots of style. A food wine still with best drinking from day of purchase (with food) or from 2027 through 2031+."
The winery writes: "Matured in French oak barriques this wine is dominated by lively flavours of plums and black cherry, supported by coffee bean and subtle black forest aromas. Structured and complex with a long medium dry finish."
