Cynar 'Artisjokbitter' is a staple Amaro found in most cocktail bars all across the globe. This Italian Bitters is made from 13 herbs and plants, predominant among them is the artichoke (Cynara scolymus), which explains the origin of its name. The drink itself is dark brown in colour, with a characteristic bittersweet flavour. At home, Cynar is often used as an after dinner aperitif, though another use rising in popularity is to swap it out for Campari to make an exciting twist on a classic Negroni.
