Mystery Gold Medal McLaren Vale Cabernet 2021
Awarded up to 95 points by top critics, this is a Cab Sav that seamlessly balances plush fruit, savoury detail, and structural finesse. Deep maroon in the glass, it opens with wonderfully pure aromas of cassis, blackberry and violet, layered with hints of tobacco leaf, dried herbs, bay leaf and savoury oak spice.
On the palate, this cabernet shows impressive concentration yet remains beautifully balanced. Expect plush black fruit flavours mingle with sweet liquorice, choc-coffee and subtle gum leaf notes. Fine chalky tannins frame the generous mouthfeel, while savoury, rustic undertones and a whisper of native scrub add intrigue and complexity. This is a wine built to go the distance - developing extra layers of depth and character in the cellar for up to 15 years.
