Briottet's Creme de Violette is one of the classic cocktail liqueurs that bartenders always love having on the shelf. Made in Dijon, France, by the historic Maison Briottet, it captures the delicate flavour and fragrance of violet petals in a beautifully vibrant purple liqueur that instantly stands out in the glass.
Sweet, floral and wonderfully aromatic, it adds both colour and elegance to cocktails. It is best known for its role in the classic Aviation, where just a small splash brings a soft floral lift and striking hue. Beyond that, it is brilliant in spritz style drinks, creative gin cocktails, or even drizzled lightly over desserts for a fragrant twist.
Maison Briottet itself dates back to 1836, and remains family run today by the fifth generation of the Briottet family in Dijon. Their long tradition of crafting fruit liqueurs shows in the purity and balance of this beautifully expressive violet liqueur.
Tasting Notes
Delicate floral aromas of fresh violet petals lead the nose. The palate is sweet and perfumed with soft floral notes and a gentle candy like finish, leaving a lingering violet fragrance.
