Another fantastic value Mystery Wine to join the lineup. "Big and bold, lush and rich" | Mike Bennie, Wine Business Magazine. And as always, strictly while stocks last. Don't wait, get in there.

This top shelf McLaren Vale GSM typically sells for $70 AUD in Australia - which equates to approximately $80 NZD per bottle. With the effects of the worldwide drop in wine demand still ongoing, we were approached to sell a parcel of this wine under the radar in New Zealand as a mystery deal* to move some of their excess inventory, stock that wouldn't normally reach our shores.

Awarded up to 95 points by leading wine critics, Aussie GSM fans will instantly fall for this captivating wine - and newcomers to the luxe world of the Holy Trinity of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre will wonder how they have missed out on this blend all their lives. Read the reviews below to reassure yourself what's on the table here.

This plush, generously framed GSM will take your palate through a complete sensory journey, with the fruit-forward shiraz component providing richness and black fruit flavours that harmonize beautifully with the juicy red fruits characters of the grenache. Mourvédre sustains the long, savoury finish with earthy complexity and brings everything together. The use of new oak is evident, and the tannin structure is wonderfully composed. Overall, a truly impressive wine.

Tasting note

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: "It's gorgeously expressed on the nose, showing dark berry, star anise, rich floral and cedar characters. The palate delivers excellent weight and expansive mouthfeel, splendidly supported by silky texture and beautifully polished tannins, offering fabulous drinking. At its best: now to 2033." 95pts.

Mike Bennie: "It's big and bold, lush and rich. Distinct black cherry and blackberry and fruit characters are married to sandalwood, new leather, black pepper and clove. A loud wine but finds joy in its softness and plush textural roll, staining the palate well and persisting with sweet fruit and wood spice. In all this, a sense of harmony in all its elements, making it a lip-smacking drink from the get-go." 94pts.

Ken Gargett: "The famous Rhone blend done McLaren Vale style. And done seriously well. The colour here is a deep blood red. The nose exhibits notes of warm earth, vegemite, leather, milk chocolate and strawberries. There is a lovely explosion of flavour on the palate, more chocolate and cherries. The wine has bright acidity and silky tannins, is well balanced, offers excellent length and is a ten year proposition." 94pts.

Ray Jordan: "Such a smooth and flavoursome combination of these varieties with lashings of liqueur cherry, bright red raspberry and intense black fruits dominated by blackberry and black cherry. Seamlessly integrated palate with fine chalky tannins and balanced oak hold it perfectly through to a long finish." 93pts.
