Quality Central Otago Pinot Noir from the normally Marlborough focused winemaker, Dave Clouston. This excellent wine shows Clouston's trademark generous style and is loaded with regional dark fruits and some spicy, herbal notes. With the price of good Central Otago Pinot forever on the rise, this is a total bargain.
Tasting note:
Savoury and earthy with bright red cherries, raspberries, and a hint of cinnamon spice. The juicy palate flows through to a fruit-driven core of crunchy red currants, dried cranberries, black olive, and suggestions of toasted coconut. A pinot noir with round tannins, good balance, and finesse.
