Bayou Mardi Gras XO Single Batch Rum
Bayou Mardi Gras XO is a lush, full-flavoured American rum made deep in Louisiana’s sugarcane country, where rum has serious roots. Distilled in small batches and aged with care, this XO starts life in ex-bourbon barrels before spending a final year in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. That double-cask approach gives it extra depth, richness and polish, making it a proper sipping rum with plenty of character.
This is a bottle that feels celebratory without being over the top. Smooth, layered and confidently Southern, it shines neat or over a big cube, but also brings real weight to spirit-forward classics. It looks the part too, making it an easy win for gifting or upgrading the rum shelf.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of cedar, plum and dried dark fruits with a soft lift of sandalwood. The palate is rich and rounded, opening with orange marmalade and blackcurrant before moving into prune, oak and gentle honeyed sweetness. The finish is long and pleasantly dry, showing black pepper, sherry warmth and a subtle floral honey note.
