The Francis Ford Coppola Winery is an important Californian producer founded by the award-winning filmmaker, famous for directing The Godfather trilogy and Apocalypse Now. It's safe to say that the winery has gained icon status in the USA market with the Diamond Collection especially popular with discerning purchasers.
The 2022 Diamond Collection Chardonnay is a wonderful example of rich, creamy Californian Chardonnay that cleary sits at the premium end of the market. This is smart, very well made wine. It opens with aromas of golden apple, ripe pear, and lemon curd, layered with subtle hints of honeysuckle and toasted brioche. On the palate, it delivers creamy citrus and stonefruit flavours, rounded out by plenty of buttery mouthfeel and toasty spicy oak. The finish is silky and refreshing, offering a perfect balance of richness and vibrant acidity.

The winery: "Developed concentration of flavours of melon, vanilla and creme brulee - pairs great with grilled chicken or pork chops. Extremely well balanced wine with lush flavours lifted by bright, natural acidity."
