Produced from the former Kemblefield Terrace View Vineyards in Mangatahi, south of Hastings, comes this excellent Hawke's Bay Red Blend from their 2024 vintage. This is a rare chance to purchase quality New Zealand Blended Red at such a compelling price - we managed to secure only 1 pallet, so once it's gone, it's gone.
This is the real deal - premium styled, medium-bodied merlot malbec that bursts with a plush amalgam of spicy red and black fruits, soft tannins and layers of creamy acidity. It's warm, friendly and fully loaded with character.
The 2024 was a killer vintage in Hawke's Bay - and this wine shows all the rewards of an excellent growing season. We were super impressed when this came across our tasting table, and for this price this is exceptional value.
Tasting note
The winery: "The 2024 Harrier Ridge Field Blend is a combination of merlot malbec grapes - hand harvested and crush into small open top fermenters. This wine has layers of soft, silky tannins combined with dollops of ripe fruit flavours and a hint of oak derived mocha to form a luscious and long palate."
A lovely, juicy style that brims with aromas of spiced plum, anise and cranberry. Those primary flavours flow to a plush, rounded palate that shines with fresh, glossy red and black fruits. The finish is fresh and clean with creamy acidity and gentle tannin structure.
