After the incredible success of the previous vintage of Ophir Bridge, McArthur Ridge have kept a limited parcel of the new vintage aside especially for the NZ market, meaning we’re able to offer this outstanding Central Otago Pinot Noir once again. The new vintage has landed, and it’s every bit as exceptional - an extraordinary parcel of quality Central Otago Pinot Noir from a lauded producer.
From a value for money perspective, we fervently believe that this deal completely redefines the standard for Central Otago Pinot. You will not believe the quality on offer here for this price. We will stake our reputation on that.
2024 was an exceptional vintage in Central and this release is showing all the benefits of that strong growing season. Soft, warm and generously fruited, it opens with waves of dark cherry and ripe plum, threaded with gentle spice and subtle savoury complexity. The palate is silky and flowing, with beautifully integrated tannins and a plush, comforting texture that makes it impossible not to go back for another glass. Expect it to evolve beautifully over the next 5+ years should you choose to cellar some for future enjoyment.
Tasting note
The winery writes: "This wine exhibits a red/purple colour with a crimson hue. The nose reveals cherry and summer berries. A hint of leather with integrated oak and sweet vanillin adds depth and complexity that entices you to savour this wine. The palate shows a delicate elegance of black cherries and red berry fruit. The tannins are supple and well-integrated, adding length and supporting the palate. The wine is instantly attractive and gratifying and complements a wide range of foods including, cheese, pasta, grilled and roasted meats, and vegetables."
