The art of making fine bourbon first took place on site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. Not willing to compromise quality, they are still one of the smallest bourbon distilleries in the USA. The perfectly balanced taste comprises more than 200 detectable flavour notes, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, and fruit & floral notes.
This particular straight bourbon was first introduced in 1996 and well known as "Distiller's Select". This high-rye bourbon has a mash bill of 18% rye. It is made from a combination of both pot still and column still whiskey. The bourbon is then aged between for at least 6 years.
