Pokeno's Discovery is a celebration of depth, balance and New Zealand craft - a single malt shaped by local barley, long fermentation and slow copper pot distillation, then elevated through a trio of exceptional casks. Fully matured in first fill bourbon, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez before being married for harmony, it delivers a rich, layered whisky with dark chocolate, red fruit and citrus woven through silky oak.
This is Pokeno in full voice - expressive, refined and shaped by our warm sub-tropical climate that accelerates maturation and builds complexity. A standout for sipping, sharing or gifting, Discovery captures the character of Aotearoa in every pour.
Tasting Notes
Dark chocolate, black forest gateau and ripe cherry on the nose, lifted by subtle citrus. The palate is rounded and plush with cocoa, red fruits, honeyed oak and soft spice, leading into a long, smooth finish.
