Pokeno's Origin is a warm, welcoming expression that captures the essence of New Zealand single malt. Made from 100% local barley and pure spring water, it’s slowly distilled and matured exclusively in first fill bourbon casks, creating a whisky that is sweet, rounded and effortlessly enjoyable. Bright citrus, honeyed sweetness and creamy toffee sit over gentle oak spice, showcasing Pokeno’s signature smooth, fruit forward style.
Shaped by long fermentation, slow copper pot distillation and the distillery’s warm sub tropical climate, Origin highlights Pokeno’s craft first approach and its commitment to quality over quantity. It’s approachable yet refined - a whisky that feels distinctly Kiwi and beautifully put together.
Tasting Notes
Warm fudge, tropical fruit and lemon peel with allspice and black pepper on the nose. The palate brings vanilla caramel, oak, coconut and candied citrus, finishing long with brown sugar, peppery spice and creamy toffee.
