This single malt whiskey from the famous Teeling distillery underwent 16 years of aging in bourbon barrels before being further matured for 12 months in Akarua's red wine barrels. With only 308 bottles available, this non-chill filtered whiskey has an ABV of 57.2% and is a must-try for any Irish whiskey aficionado.
Tasting note
The aromas of Creme Brulee and malt lead to lively hints of grapefruit peel on the nose. These vibrant citrus notes linger on the palate, along with orchard fruits, melon, and a subtle touch of black pepper spice. The finish is characterized by pronounced dried fruits, subtle wood tannins, and a refreshing hint of citrus lingering.
