Conceived by three mates connected through wine - Ollie Powrie, Shaye Bird and Ant Saunders - this is a salivating expression of crisp Gisborne Albarino that is destined to be part of your alfresco gatherings this summer. This perfectly pitched passion project is a study in how to capture the imagination of the wine buying public, with that same, iconic fish label. Industry commentators have been predicting that albarino is going to be the next big thing in New Zealand wine in recent years - and with wines of this calibre hitting the market, we are all for it.

This Albarino was planted by the pioneering visionaries Doug and Delwyn Bell on their legendary site in 2009 - the oldest albarino vineyards in Australasia. The pair have played a pivotal role in the development of albarino in New Zealand for over a decade. Eight months on lees has created a beautifully textured and aromatic wine that is unmistakably albarino and just dances with intense flavour and texture. It's just begging for fresh oysters and shellfish!

Tasting note

Enticing aromas of perfectly ripe white peach, nectarine and citrus flowers. A lovely finely textured palate with incredible purity and crisp dry finish.
