We have long admired the benchmark Riojas from Bodegas Beronia and this 2020 release is another example from this excellent producer. It's a full-bodied Spanish blend, mostly vinted from tempranillo with a touch of garnacha and mazuelo in the mix. This is just such a pleasant, rewarding glass of wine, with touches of American oak, cherry fruits and subtle earthy characters. A cracker of a Rioja with a beautiful long finish.
Tasting note
Tempranillo 95%, Garnacha 4% & Mazuelo 1%.
A deep, cherry red colour with a bright garnet edge. Complex on the nose with distinct aromas of cherry and raspberry and threads of rosemary and thyme. This Crianza is full of fresh, ripe berry fruit flavours with hints of sweet baking spices. Fullbodied with a long, balanced finish.
