The Breuil Single Malt Sherry Whisky is a rich, sherry-led French single malt from Château du Breuil, the Normandy producer better known for its calvados but now making a serious name for itself in whisky too. Matured with Oloroso sherry influence, this is a fuller, more indulgent style of malt with plenty of warmth, depth and dessert-like richness, while still keeping a bright, elegant edge. It is a great pick for whisky drinkers who enjoy the sweeter, fruitier side of sherry cask maturation.
This single malt whisky shows off a lovely mix of dried fruit, nuts and spice, with layers of plum, hazelnut, liquorice and vanilla wrapped around that classic Oloroso richness. Château du Breuil has brought its usual sense of finesse to the category here, creating a whisky that feels generous and velvety without losing balance. A cracking after-dinner dram, and an easy one to recommend to anyone who likes sherried single malts with a slightly different point of view.
