Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte 18YO Single Malt Whisky is a seriously grown-up Islay dram that shows just how elegant heavily peated whisky can be. Distilled, matured and bottled entirely on Islay, this limited release is made with 100% Scottish barley and captures Port Charlotte’s signature dry peat smoke in a more refined, luxurious style. It is a premium bottle through and through - rich, smoky and deeply expressive, but never brute force for the sake of it.
This exceptional 18 year old single malt has been profoundly shaped by sherry and wine cask maturation, which adds layers of dried fruit, wood spice and sweetness around that classic barbecue smoke character. The result is a whisky with real depth and polish, where figs, sultanas and raisins meet brown sugar, bonfire smoke and a subtle mineral edge from its full-term Islay maturation. For peat lovers after something older, richer and more composed, this is an absolute beauty.
