This world famous Scotch blend was first made in the early 20th century by the Chivas Brothers. The company’s roots can be traced back to 1801, with the opening of a grocers in Aberdeen. Originally selling luxury food, coffee and spices, it was almost a half century later that the company began making whisky, and then not until after the US Prohibition that the Chivas Regal 12 was first officially released.
This is a very refined blended whisky. Herbs, honey and fruit leap forth on the palate. Regularly lauded by the critics, this is a superb blend and fantastic value for money.
Tasting note
Warm amber colour and an aromatic infusion of wild herbs on the nose with heather, honey and orchard fruits. Rich and fruity on the palate, this Chivas bursts with the smooth taste of ripe, honeyed apples and notes of vanilla, hazelnut and butterscotch before a generous, lingering finish.
