🥇🥇 DOUBLE GOLD San Fran World Spirits Comp 2023

Glen Scotia 15 Year Old is a confident, quietly complex Campbeltown single malt that really shows off what this historic coastal region does best. Matured primarily in American oak casks and shaped by long years resting right beside the sea, this whisky is all about balance. It’s rich without being heavy, fruity without being sweet, and carries that unmistakable Campbeltown character with ease.

Unpeated and patiently matured for 15 years, this expression leans into Glen Scotia’s house style. Slow fermentation, small batch distillation and traditional American oak maturation bring layers of vanilla, orchard fruit and gentle spice, while the distillery’s coastal warehouses add a subtle saline edge. A very light finishing influence from Oloroso sherry casks adds depth without stealing the spotlight, letting the regional character shine through.

Tasting Notes

Bright citrus peel and baked fruits lead on the nose, joined by ginger snap biscuits and soft vanilla. The palate is rich yet controlled, with plump apricots, fruit salad, caramelised sugar and oak, balanced by warming spice. The finish is gently drying and savoury, with honeyed smoothness, lingering spice and a subtle coastal saltiness.
