This 21-year-old Glendronach whisky has been matured in a blend of high-quality Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, maintaining the brand's reputation for fruit-forward flavor and intensity. Aptly named after the parliament of rooks that have nested near the distillery for centuries, this rich expression is a testament to Glendronach's long-standing tradition of excellence.
Tasting Notes
This single malt has a deep amber color with a shiny cherry wood sheen when poured into a glass. The nose presents a delicate blend of ripe autumnal fruits, particularly blackberries and red plums. It also features rich Oloroso sherry and candied orange segments, along with hints of spiced oatmeal biscuits and toasted oak. These elements combine to create a well-balanced and flavorful experience. The palate is dominated by intense flavors of fine Oloroso sherry and bitter chocolate sauce, reminiscent of indulgent homemade plum pudding. The addition of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg adds a wonderful spicy depth. The body is full and smooth, complemented by velvety tannins.
