The Isle of Mull is home to the renowned Tobermory Distillery, which produces not only unpeated whisky, but also an exceptional smoky single malt known as Ledaig. Named after one of the distillery's previous monikers, Ledaig is crafted using the same pot stills as the classic Tobermory expression, but with the addition of peated barley. This 10-year-old whisky offers a complex profile of earthy, medicinal smoke, complemented by hints of fresh fruit and spices.
Tasting Note
A tantalizing aroma of subtle peat smoke, luscious spices, and a hint of anise. The initial taste is well-balanced and carries a depth of malty sweetness. Notes of dark brown sugar and toffee provide a velvety and luxurious experience. A smooth and harmonious finish with a delicate whisper of smoke.
