Mars Cosmo Japanese Whisky 700ml

In 1949, the Hombo family started distilling whisky at Mars Distillery, led by Kiichiro Iwai. In 1984, production moved to a high-altitude site in Nagano and a lighter style of whisky was introduced. However, they closed in 1992 due to Japan's whisky market crash and reopened in 2011.

Mars Cosmo Japanese Whisky is aged in a combination of sherry, bourbon, and American White Oak new casks. The spirit is named after a mountain located in Japan's Central Alps, near the new Mars Whisky Distillery location.

Tasting Notes

This whisky features aromas of spicy stewed pears, walnut slices, and prunes. It has a light-to-medium body, showcasing malt flavors and a delightful balance of smoke and sweetness. The finish is long and ends with a slightly oily yet spicy taste.
