Mr Black's Bundaberg Barrel Rested Coffee Liqueur is a seriously smart twist on the cult-favourite Mr Black formula, taking that signature coffee-first style and layering in the richness of Bundaberg rum casks for something deeper, warmer and more decadent. Roasted and distilled in Australia, Mr Black has built its reputation on bold Arabica coffee flavour and a more grown-up, less sugary profile than old-school coffee liqueurs, and this limited collaboration pushes that style into darker, more luxurious territory.
This rum-rested expression was developed in collaboration with Bundaberg Rum and rested for three months in a mix of ex-Port and ex-Sherry European and American oak casks that had previously held Bundaberg’s flagship rums. That extra cask influence brings layers of dark chocolate, Christmas spice, brown sugar and raisins around the coffee core, giving it a richer, rounder feel than the standard bottling while still keeping that unmistakable Mr Black backbone.
Tasting Notes
