Nautilus has developed a reputation as one of the finest Marlborough producers and this gold medal albariño demonstrates why. With fragrant notes of white peach, jasmine and honeydew melon, this lovely white is both mouthfilling and refreshing. Albariño is set to give sauv a run for its money as New Zealand's next favourite white wine, and with offerings like this we're all for it.

This is a very good example of the NZ Albarino model. It's a bit softer and more fruit driven than its Spanish counterparts, with a noticeable floral aspect to the nose and a rounder expression of citrus and green melon on the palate. Plenty of fresh acidity cleans up the finish while a touch of mineral salinity balances out some of those fleshy melon characters. Try this delightful wine matched with fresh seafood and you'll be in heaven. De-lish.

Tasting note

The winery: "Fragrant and vibrant, the 2025 Nautilus Albariño opens with aromas of white peach, mandarin zest,  and a hint of sea spray. The palate is bright and expressive, delivering juicy stonefruit flavours with a touch of salinity and fine texture. Crisp acidity drives a long, zesty finish, capturing the variety’s signature freshness and energy."
