No.1 Family Estate, established 1997, is the only Marlborough winery specialising in the production of Methode Traditionelle. Under the steady hand of legendary vintner Daniel le Brun, the wines are expressive and elegant and this fine blanc de blanc is a testament to his years of experience crafting sparkling wines of the very highest order. Produced from 100% Chardonnay, it is made in a typically punchy style but retains a freshness and elegance that will make it an instant hit with anyone who opens a bottle. It comes very highly recommended.

Tasting note

Cameron Douglas MS: " Aromas of citrus and white peach, red apple and a deep core of autolysis. Scents of white strawberry, white flowers, a wetstone and chalk like minerality add complexity as well as freshness and allure. Crisp, dry and quite complex with flavours that reflect the nose - layered and integrated. Expressive mousse with a fine bubble and texture. Aperitif style with a lengthy finish. "

Bob Campbell MW: "Made from 100% chardonnay with two years on the yeast lees. Silken-textured wine with plenty of fresh, bready yeast autolysis character, together with citrus and subtle floral flavours. A very appealing wine with an ethereal texture and gently dry finish. 5 Stars - 95/100"
