Planteray Cut & Dry Coconut Rum is a seriously impressive Barbadian coconut rum that proves tropical does not have to mean sugary. Produced at the historic West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, it took four years and 97 different recipes to perfect, eventually landing on a beautifully simple idea: mature Barbados rum infused with locally grown coconut. Roughly one whole coconut goes into every litre, giving Cut & Dry an intensely natural coconut character while keeping the richness and structure of proper Bajan rum underneath. It was also the first release to carry the new Planteray name.
This award-winning expression uses coconuts handpicked at peak ripeness, with the white flesh cut and sun-dried before being infused into the rum. Fresh and toasted coconut lead the way, followed by vanilla, banana, caramel, molasses, gentle spice, and a creamy texture that never becomes overly syrupy. It picked up 95 points at the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge, followed by Gold and Best of Category for Flavoured Rum at the 2024 New Orleans Spirits Competition. Tasting Notes
Rich and creamy with fresh and toasted coconut, vanilla, ripe banana, caramel, and molasses, followed by gentle spice and a long, warming coconut finish.
