Santa Teresa 1796 Solera Rum is a benchmark premium Venezuelan rum with more than two centuries of heritage behind it. Created at Hacienda Santa Teresa, whose history dates back to 1796, this flagship expression combines rums aged for up to 35 years before bringing them together through the house’s unique triple-ageing process. Rich and complex without becoming overly sweet, it is a beautifully polished sipping rum with the kind of balance, depth, and maturity that makes it a serious step up from everyday dark rum.
This exceptional solera rum first undergoes traditional individual ageing before moving through Santa Teresa’s solera casks and finally its solera vats. The original mother rum placed into the system in 1992 has never been completely emptied, meaning every new bottling retains a connection to those earliest batches. The result is dry, smooth, and velvety, with layers of dark chocolate, honey, dried fruit, tobacco, leather, spice, and toasted oak. It is best enjoyed neat or over a large cube, where the complexity has plenty of room to open up.
