Starward 100 Proof Single Malt Whisky
Starward's 100 Proof Single Malt Whisky is exactly what it says on the label. Big, confident and unapologetically bold. Bottled at 100 proof and matured entirely in American oak and Australian red wine barrels, this is Starward turned up a notch, built for whisky drinkers who like flavour front and centre.
Those red wine casks, sourced largely from the Barossa and previously home to cabernet and shiraz, bring serious weight and richness to the spirit. The result is a full-bodied single malt packed with dark fruit, chocolatey depth and creamy vanilla, balanced by spice and oak grip. It is powerful but polished, with plenty going on from first sip to long finish. A cracking sipper neat or over ice when you want something with real presence.
Tasting Notes
The nose opens with Madagascan vanilla, toasted American oak and ripe dark fruits like blackberry jam, raisins, dried fig and overripe plum. The palate is rich and mouth-filling, showing vanilla, quince paste, chocolate ganache, cinnamon and baked banana bread. The finish is long and viscous, with baking spice, ripe figs and raisins lingering warmly.
