Whistlebird Green Gold Gin Liqueur is a distinctly New Zealand gin liqueur that takes the bold botanical character of the original Whistlebird gin and turns it into something richer, softer, and seriously moreish. Made in Wellington, it starts with the Whistlebird gin base before being steeped with kawakawa syrup and rounded out with raw honey. That is it. Two beautifully simple additions that bring a whole new dimension to the spirit without burying the juniper underneath.
This small batch gin liqueur opens green and resinous, with crushed kawakawa leaf and damp native bush aromas leading into a slow, peppery warmth across the palate. Thick golden honey then rolls in behind it, softening the spice while the juniper keeps everything structured and unmistakably gin-led. Drink it cold and neat, pour it over a big cube, or lengthen it with tonic, where the pepper, honey, citrus, and botanicals come together in something strangely reminiscent of a distinctly Kiwi bush cola.
Tasting Notes
Green and resinous with crushed kawakawa leaf, peppery spice, rich raw honey, and underlying juniper, finishing long, soft, and warmly botanical.
