Yalumba Samuel's Collection Bush Vine Grenache is one of the our favourite sub $25 Barossa reds - a wonderfully middleweight wine that is loaded with personality and soft, slurpy, easy drinking charm. Think of it like a cross between gutsy Central Otago Pinot Noir and lush Barossa Shiraz and you're on the right track.
It's a richly flavoured style but more in the savoury red fruit spectrum - so it provides a lovely counterpoint to the blockbusters the Barossa is best know for. If you're looking for a general purpose red that stands out from the pack but is a sure fire winner, this is one of the safest bets in the market.

Candice Chow: "Medium ruby-red, even colour throughout. The nose is gently full, with aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, bramble, floral and anise. Medium-full bodied, aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry and blueberry intertwined with sweet floral and a touch of anise and spice. Juicy acidity flows smoothly on a silky palate, unfolding subtle spices and lends a long, graceful finish. This old bush vine Grenache is elegant with unmistakable varietal characters, silky mouthfeel and strength."
